About the Two Minute Drill Game

The two minute drill game is an independent, fan-made football strategy game for the browser. It is built for people who want to try the decisions behind a late NFL drive: whether to throw short, take a deep shot, use a timeout or protect a lead. You can play free without creating an account.

What you can do here

Daily gives everyone the same opening situation and seed. Survivor links random situations into a winning streak. Practice lets you choose the type of challenge and retry the same opening with different calls. You coach both offense and defense, watch an illustrative animation and inspect the coach review after each decision.

The aim is to make the consequence of a choice easier to understand. The score tells you whether you won; the coach grade estimates how your choice compared with other available calls. Keeping those separate helps distinguish a sensible decision from a lucky result.

What is real and what is modeled

The starting situations come from public 2023–2025 NFL play-by-play. The current library contains 754 openings and 35,435 sampled plays. Recorded lineups are shown when participation data is available. After the opening, the result is simulated; the moving players are a schematic illustration, not video footage or live player tracking.

Clock handling and overtime are simplified. Player interaction currently selects a target lane, not a personal ability rating or a complete route tree. The percentages are outputs of this game model, not betting odds. Our data and method page describes the inputs and limits.

Your progress and privacy

Unfinished drives, completed results and preferences stay in browser storage on this device. Ranked results send your calls and chosen display name for server verification. Practice does not affect the ranked Daily result. The privacy policy explains storage, public names and hosting logs.

Who publishes the game

This project is maintained by its independent owner under the Two Minute Drill Game name. Similar-name websites are separate projects. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the NFL, its teams, ESPN or any broadcaster. We use team names to identify the historical games.
